Little Things

It’s been awhile since I posted about some “little things” in our life. Right now we are appreciating the warming weather and are thrilled that spring seems to be slowly arriving. I saw a robin today. We got to take several walks on the bike path this week and were looking for signs of spring. Here are some random tidmits from life in March….

Tom made a new friend through IFI named Sam- and he’s Thai! We were all so happy to meet him when he came for lunch on Sunday (along with our friend Molly who has a daughter currently teaching in Thailand). He brought pad Thai to contribute to the meal and we really enjoyed speaking a little Thai and talking about Bangkok. His presence seemed to unleash a flood of memories for the kids and they were all very talkative, sharing their memories with him.

Miss Claire attended a birthday party of a school friend, Kate.  She got to do gymnastics and eat pizza and cake with her friends- a great time.

Look at this wild and wooly boy who was needing a haircut so badly!

And Mr. Handsome, all shaven and shorn.

Claire won this giant medal in gym class for being a good sport and doing her best. It’s actually a Columbus marathon medal that she gets to keep!

We had some family game nights this week- Taboo and Toss up. Si and I were very proud of winning Toss Up as you can see.

Colleen came over for gallo pinto breakfast and we got to spend the day catching up finally! So good to be together again! Vicki came and joined us too and…

Carmal joined us for lunch. The four of us were all in REACH training in 1996! It had been a long time since we’d seen it other all together, so it was really fun to catch up. Surreal too how fast the time has gone since then.

Last night Philip and Betsy and Laura (Betsy’s sister) and Soren came to dinner. Yay!!!! Tom cooked Thai food and we loved hanging out with them again .

We thought Soren and Silas looked pretty cute together in their fox footies. Claire was moaning as they left- “I wish Soren was MY brother!” Come back again soon!

It was so great to be with your family and see the kids’ school. I miss the frequent times we shared together in Thailand, but I’m happy to reconnect in this way even if it doesn’t happen every week. Love you all! Hugs!

I love it that cousins want to be siblings!
