Five at the Zoo

We celebrated Silas’s fifth birthday at the Columbus zoo! We had such a fun day together.

He woke up to a Lightening balloon and sunflowers (he is the most flower loving kid. I just had to get him some flowers for his birthday).

And the zoo! Flamingoes are such crazy/wonderful birds, aren’t they??

Fascinated by the sealife, but the sharks were definitely what he got most excited about.

The beautiful 100 year old carousel that still costs just a dollar to ride. That was the most joy I’ve seen in one place in awhile!

Probably the highlight of his whole day was the dinosaur park and the ride. Tom took him and he was in heaven. Love how he clutched his map the whole day.

Another great experience was touching a snake.  Si is pretty impressed with snakes these days too.

Picnic lunch by the lake.

He kept putting up four fingers and i had to remind him he was five!

Studying his map so he could lead the way.

He loved the petting zoo even when this goat came about an inch from peeing on his foot.

The giftwrap theme was fierce animals- mostly sharks.DSC_0115 DSC_0120

And the cake was zoo animals with a number 5 in sprinkles.

We love you, birthday boy! We are so proud of you starting school and know that you will make lots of friends and do a good job. Hope you have a happy year of learning and growing!
