Good-bye party

Our good-bye party was given by the team and held at a restaurant the day after our move. We felt so blessed and loved by our friends. Many of the important people from our life in Thailand were there with us and it was so nice to have a relaxed evening together to say good-bye. We had some wonderful Thai food. We noticed that Dan and Nixon ordered many of our favorite dishes, like curried seafood, shrimp cakes, tom young gung, tom ka gai, cashew chicken, etc. We had a relaxed time chatting with people, then there was more formal sharing in the whole group when friends encouraged us and gave us scriptures.  Then there was a string-tying ceremony of blessing and the group prayed for us. It was an emotionally draining night and lots of tears were shed, but we were so thankful for our friends and glad to have a chance to say good-bye. I’ll let the pictures do the rest of the talking. Silas went around the party when we first got there and took pictures of everybody. The rest were taken by my friend, Ju.

P.S. Earlier the day of the party, Lan performed his second baptism of the week! God has been answering prayers by giving Lan a very fruitful ministry!

Oh Candice, some of these pictures are just heart-wrenching! I am sorry I don’t comment on your blog more often… I read it in my blog reader and can’t comment from there- but I’ve been following you! 🙂 I am hoping we can see you soon, and thanks for sharing this emotional, bitter sweet time with us. We love you guys!
