Chiang Mai

On the overnight train to Chiang Mai. The girls slept two to a bunk and did really well.  Dara and Lydia decided they liked sleeping on a train.

Carmen and her girls headed straight to the medical conference. Because the conference was full for the first week, Claire, Eliza and I stayed a few days at Juniper Tree before joining up with them for the last 6 days of the conference. The girls and I really enjoyed the quiet days- with homeschool in the morning and long afternoons in the pool. DSC_0015

We loved having lots of time for reading. Eliza liked perching on the window

sill with her book.

We took a long walk to find 7-11, got lost, and enjoyed some Chiang Mai sour sausages along the way. We walked so far (all the way back to the train station!) that we brought a tuk tuk home. 🙂

One night we met up with C,D, and L at the Chiang Mai night market.  We had fun in spite of a downpour.

The girls were so pleased with their matching ceramic dolls.

The corn on the cob was a big hit.
