Night of Lights II

We have a new annual tradition of going into the downtown to see the Christmas lights.  In Thippawan, it could be August…but in the downtown,  it’s still hot, but decorated for December!  I took the kids in on the skytrain and we met Tom after his English class. The kids loved the Sizzler buffet and the excitement of the lights and music, the pretty angels, and the colored fountain. It always makes us a little bit sad too as we think about how many people here don’t know why we are celebrating (for them, it’s about the King’s birthday and the New Year and Christmas is a Western holiday).  DSC_0046

Mirror family portrait. Silas was still acting like a tough martial artist after watching the karate demonstration. That’s my first peppermint mocha of the season!
