Farm Lessons

We had a really fast but fun 24 hours in Big Valley, PA where we went to do a church visit back in March.  After church, we got to spend the afternoon with the lovely Max and Brenda Zook and their son, James.  Thanks again, for sharing your birthday with us, Brenda and thanks to all three of you for teaching us so much about the farm! We were lucky enough to see a bunch of animals including big work horses, a buggy horse, an Amish milking (by hand! what??), chickens,  and sheep! The girls got to taste honey from a hive and gather eggs (later we had eggs that looked more like sunshine on a plate than any I’ve ever eaten!).  We even got to make pretzels! I felt so lucky the entire time that our kids got to have such a fun and educational day -we all learned a lot. James, thank you for being a faithful blog reader and teaching Claire to climb trees! We would love to come see you again someday!
