I never get to be around to help my parents’ celebrate their anniversaries, so thought this would be the perfect time to have a celebration since I was home for their 42nd! The dinner party on April 3 included all of my local siblings and their spouses and Mom and Dad. This was before Tom arrived, so he wasn’t able to be there and of course Carmen and Jason weren’t there- you three were missed! Rebekah and Jared hosted us at their house and we all helped cook the meal which included the following (not sure I remember it all!)… brie/crackers/olives, tabbouleh, two green salads, foccacia, pasta and scallops, manicotti, limas, and carrot cake.
Mom’s wedding dress was on display along with wedding pictures.
White candles, white tulips, babies breath
Looking at wedding pictures with Dietrich and Abbey.
A Groovy Kind of Love was Dad and Mom’s song…
The evening wrapped up with cutting the cake and feeding each other (no smashing!) and playing the Newlywed Game…winners: Rebekah and Jared.
Dad and Mom, I think I can speak for all of us when I say that we are all inspired by your marriage and hope to still love each other as much as you do and for as long as you have. xxoo
