Night of Light

On Christmas Eve Eve, the kids and I took the skytrain downtown to meet Tom for a little family date when he was done teaching. As expected, the city was crazy and crowded and very festive. All the malls had their lights up. It’s so strange- for example, our neighborhood looks completely normal, but the shopping centers are winter wonderland! We had a great night of walking from mall to mall along the skytrain to see the trees and lights plus there were some fun dancers/performers out and we got to watch some skating.

dinner at Sizzler (some combination of edamame, bacon bits, carrots, quail eggs, corn, cheese and caesar dressing is what they like to eat from the salad bar!)….fish and chips for them, burgers for us!

watching the skaters (future family date skating idea in the works!)

It turned out to be a very fun family time- and maybe a new tradition?
